Evian Masters will be considered 5th major in 2013

Time has finally come for the LPGA to give the right amount of respect to the Evian Masters that is played every year on the Ladies European Tour. The tournament was originally founded in 1994 and the tournament is played every year on the Evian Masters Golf Club the event was always considered as an major on the European Tour, but the LPGA did not consider it one, maybe to the fact that they already have the British Open on European soil, but come 2013 that will change because the LPGA has decided that they will finally adopt the event as a major.

Tiger Woods agent signs with Excel Sports Management

This week there were all kinds of rumors in regards to Tiger Woods, the internet was buzzing with gossip that Tiger was going to come out on Monday on The Golf Channel and make an important statement and a lot of people started to speculate that he was going to retire or call it quits for the remainder of the year. Everyone left and right were making up fantasy stories about Tiger and what was going to become of him, but shortly after reading all the garbage comments Mark Steinberg came out and set everyone straight.

Few Amateurs at British Open, but they can all play!

There are always a few amateurs who make it to the British Open and when they do they earn all the respect from their playing competitors and rivals the same and the professionals in the field admire the way they play and that they are still loyal to the game due to not having joined the paid ranks like themselves. The few amateurs that actually make it into the final field will compete for the Silver Medal which is awarded every year to the lowest finishing amateur in the field whether they make the cut or not has nothing to do with it all.

British Open- Two unlikely leaders after first round

The one thing that you can always be guaranteed of in a major championship is that there are plenty of odd stories to be told and there are always names in the top part of the leaderboard whom one would never have expected to be there in the first place. WE have no become accustomed to amateurs making runs at regular tour events and even catching our attention at majors, so was the case at the US Open when young Californian Patrick Cantlay who took low amateur honors at the US Open and he also set the lowest back nine score for the tournament.

European Tour- Nordea Masters

For the players that decide to stay on this side of the pond after the British Open they will get the chance to play the Nordea Masters which last year was the Nordea Scandinavian Masters, this event was first played in 1991 when the event was called Scandinavian Masters it used that name for four years then they changed it to Volvo Scandinavian Masters from 1995 to 2002.

PGATOUR – Viking Classic

The PGATOUR will have a tournament the same week as the British Open so one thing is for sure and that is the field will be a weak one and it will provide players a chance to make some money and a chance to shine on the highest level even though they will not be playing against a strong field. But when it all comes down to it a win is a win when it comes to the PGATOUR.

2011 British Open Championship – Louis Oosthuizen going for repeat!

The time has finally come for the third major of the year and we are once again going across the big pond in order to arrive at the overseas United Kingdom to narrow it down it is at England where the players will arrive to play The Open Championship or simply The Open as some call it or as the Yankees like to call it The British Open. The course that is hosting the greatest championship of all time is Royal St. George`s which is being played as a par 70 and its length is set to run around 7,211 yards which is a short layout especially if one considers that most times the courses are hard and the balls run forever.

LPGA Women`s US OPEN

So after Yani Tseng set the pace at this last major with an ten shot victory at the age of 22 she became the youngest player in the LPGA history with four majors to her name will now have to wait two weeks in order to try to add a fifth major to her list when they play the Women`s US Open on July 7th.

Golf Picks: Wegmans LPGA Championship Cristie Kerr To Defend Title

After a week of the LPGA this week will be in Pittsford, New York where they will play the Locust Hill Country Club that is the host of the Wegmans LPGA Championship, the tournament will be aired everyday on The Golf Channel. This event is one of the four majors on the LPGA tour and is played over seventy-two holes though it is a major on the LPGA tour it is not recognized as such by the Ladies European Tour.

Loren Roberts Defending at Dick`s Sporting Goods Open

The Champions Tour this week are going to the old home of the B.C. Open that used to be a regular event on the PGATOUR but has now been removed from the schedule it was played from 1971 all the way up to 2006. Now instead of an regular PGATOUR event the people of Endicott in New York will have to comfort themselves with an Senior PGATOUR event which is not really a downgrade by any means.
