Magic are not done yet…

Just a few weeks ago everyone was saying that the Orlando Magic were done, finished, not to be worried about, but as they crept up and stole game one from under the Indiana Pacers feet, they turned heads. The Pacers were the third best team in the East, coming off one of their best seasons in over a decade. They knew that they were the hunted, not the hunters, they had proven everything during the regular season. Knicks lose real defense

The New York Knicks were absolutely demolished by the Miami Heat coming out of game one of their possible 7 game series; their defense was nonexistent and as far as their offense, well, it was an off shooting night to say the least. Unfortunately the Knicks lost something more than just a game, their leading defensive player, a rookie beyond all out of Georgia Tech named Iman Shumpert and the player responsible for guarding key of opponent player such has Russell Westbrook, Paul Pierce and Manu Ginobili amongst others. This is a must win for the Knicks

This is the first and last game for both of these two squads, as they finish up their season and get ready for the playoffs, but this game has the potential to play a huge roll on where the New York Knicks end up in the Eastern conference, because with a win here and a loss from the Magic, would mean that the Knicks could possibly make the 5th seed instead of the 6th and play Indiana instead of the Miami Heat to whom the Knicks lost two out of three in the regular season. The Clippers for their part are in and are not too interested in moving up at the risk of injury, they know what they have and what they can do, so rest will be key to their success. Pacers have locked up Playoff spot

The Indiana Pacers have accomplished their first goal of the reduced season, making the playoffs as they have successfully secured their spot as the #3 team in the East behind the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat. Detroit on the other hand is playing for respect, they have no intentions of even making the playoffs this year, the rebuilding process has begun and it will be a long and hard one to go through, but they will be playing for pride and the fact of simply feeling a win. They have no intentions of resting anyone on their roster but they also know that the Pacers team that they will match up against now, will not be the Pacer team of this last season, with only possible one starter even playing, most will be resting on the sidelines with their teams or at home getting some much needed rest and down time. Boston looks to bounce back from hard loss

These two teams are battling right now for the top spot in the Atlantic division, given that there is a big chance that they will face each other in the first round; this game will play a high roll in what could be the outcome of that series. This will be the third and final time that these two teams meet in the regular season with the Boston Celtics getting the best of the Atlanta Hawks in the first two games but by the skin of their pants, winning by 3 points in game 1 back in early March and having to go to overtime in game two a few days ago, winning by a last minute shot by Brandon Bass to seal the win. Hornets have new Owner!

How familiar is the name Tom Benson? Well to most people in the sports world he is a charismatic sports fan that loves the world of competitive playing. In 1985 Mr. Benson purchased the New Orleans Saints from previous owner John Mecom for an undisclosed amount. Tom Benson made most of his fortune in the automobile industry, owning several car dealerships back in the day, then deciding to invest in local banks, over the years he had gotten so much success from his banking that he formed his own bank called Benson Financial, which Wells Fargo soon bought from Mr. Benson. Clippers looking to make it 4 in a row

The Clippers are a very young team, meaning that they really don’t need as much rest as other older teams do (teams such as the Spurs and Celtics) but as the Clippers travel to Colorado to take on the Denver Nuggets in what will be the last game of their 4 game series this season, I think they will be in for a surprise. The Clippers are ahead in the global record against the Nuggets this season, winning two of the three meetings but the Nuggets know that winning is the only thing that will help them achieve their goal of the postseason as well as looking past the first round. Rest is fundamental to the teams that can allow them to do it but the Clippers might be a little too focused on winning than preparing.

The Los Angeles Clippers have won 8 of their last 10 games (currently being on a 3 game win streak) but as they basically have the playoff spot finalized, they have to remember that their players have done a lot of traveling and although young, the Clippers have a tendency to run the floor more than the rest of the teams and with the altitude issues that have always existed in Colorado, they will need that extra rest. Blake Griffin has now a better understanding of the types of hits and pushes that will come with the postseason and he will have to learn to push through them and not let them get to him, because without him they do not stand a chance.

The Denver Nuggets are as inconsistent as they could be right now, they are second in the division, because most of the other teams have suffered huge season-ending losses such as Lamarcus Aldridge in Portland and teams like the T-Wolves that are still rebuilding. The Nuggets are led only by the Thunder who are more than 11 games ahead. The Nuggets have to step up to the plate and start playing almost synchronized basketball, having no more Carmelo and Nene, they have to find a way with what they have to win; Push through and attack the rim.

I like the Nuggets on their home floor this game, they know that they have to fight that much harder or they will be going home early this year which would be a big disappointment to everyone. They will need to spread the floor and keep the Clippers running. The Clippers will need to sub player in and out to get them rest and this is the type of game that could potentially throw the Clippers off their road and cause issues for them in the first round. Miami looks to pour on the heat

Not only will this game stand as the last meeting between the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks of the season, but it might be the most important game the Knicks play of the regular season. This game will give the Knicks the knowledge they will need to really see what kind of a shot they have in the postseason, if they can beat the Heat that will most definitely put them in their A game (after losing back to back games to the Celtics, another eastern conference team). The Knicks know they have been hot in recent weeks, but they have not really been challenged, the real honest test came in an OT win against the Bulls, who had an unhealthy and very rusty Rose playing point guard for most of their game. The Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are having the season of the decade; they have not played this well since the time of the great Reggie Miller. They have positioned themselves to not only make the playoffs this year, but be the #3 seed coming out of the east, surpassing teams like Boston, New York and Orlando. They are playing more in-sync now than they ever have and the combination of youth and veterans are helping them tremendously, but the experience will come in big time as soon as the playoffs arrive.
