PGA TOUR’s Viking Classic is a very well recognized Golf tournament that this time is going to be held at the Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi. This year the tournament is scheduled to start from October 26th until November 1st but due to rain the first round has being postponed until Saturday. The Tournament coverage will be broadcast on the Golf Channel through the whole competition.

The BMW Professional Golf Tournament just finished two days ago and we have interesting Results. Tiger Woods once again is the Winner in this kind of prestigious competitions leading the board with a total of 265 points. Tiger Woods was followed by Jim Furyk, Marc Leishman, Sean O’Hair and Sack Johnson. Definitely a good development for such a good tournament.

The BMW PGA Championship, as it is currently known for sponsorship reasons, is an annual men’s professional golf tournament on the European Tour. It was founded in 1955 by the Professional Golfers’ Association, and as such was originally called the British PGA Championship. This year is taking place from Thursday September the 10th and it will end on Sunday September 13th. The venue will be The Cog Hill Golf & Country Club located at the beautiful city of Lemont, Illinois.

The Deutsche Bank Championship is a PGA Tour golf tournament and is going to be held this year at the TPC Boston at Norton, Massachusetts. This time the tournament will start Friday Sept 4th and will end on Monday Sept 7th.

The unexpected was the main plate last Sunday August 30th at the National Facility, Jersey City, New Jersey. Padraig Harringon, Ernie Els and Tiger Woods all came up one stroke short of the man who came into The Barclays ranked 124th in FedExCup points and was one of the last players to make the field. Now, suddenly Heath Slocum goes from the 124th place up to the third in the FedExCup Standings.

The Hazeltine Golf Competition taking place between the 10th and 16th of August 2009. As usual the event is going to be held at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, following the wonderful battle between Harrington and Garcia in 2008. Definitely the 2009 PGA Golf Championships will feature the strongest field in golf.
Hazeltine National Golf Club it’s a private club and therefore closed to guests not accompanied by a member. The course opened in 1962 with Robert Trent Jones as the course architect. The current president of the club is Tim Rainey.
The mission of the founders of Hazeltine was to build and maintain a golf course suitable to conduct national championships. An important part of the mission was to develop a membership that supported this concept – a membership that felt a responsibility to the game of golf and its rules and traditions. The Buick Open, held at the Grand Blanc Township in Michigan just had a really exciting ending. Tiger Woods was able to improve at the end of the competition reaching the first place with enough advantage over his opponents. Now Tiger Woods has another trophy for his overflowing collection which is full of PGA TOUR tittles.

This last Sunday 19th we were able to watch one of the most exciting finals in a pro golf competition. Tom Watson was supposed to win but suddenly the champion emerged from the darkness to win the competition and taking the winning out of Watson’s hands. Read the rest of this entry »
