The Bears have registered only two sacks in winning their first two games of the season, but star defensive end Julius Peppers isn’t worried. “We’ve just got to rush a little bit better,” Peppers said. “It’s not really a big deal right now. We’re winning games. As far as the numbers and things like that, it’s not as important as getting wins. But we do want to rush a little bit better and we will. It’s just going to take a little time.”
Peppers recorded a key sack in the season opener against the Lions, forcing a fumble the Bears recovered while knocking starting quarterback Matthew Stafford out of the game with a shoulder injury. Texas and Texas Tech kick off their Big 12 schedules in a game that will be the first test for each one this season.
Texas goes on the road in week 3, taking an offensive line in transition up against an underestimated Red Raiders defense. Visiting the Jones AT & T stadium has never been a picnic to Texas. New York Giants (1-0, 0-0 away) at Indianapolis Colts (0-1, 0- 0 home)
This is unquestionably a high profile match up between the Manning brothers. Let’s begin with New York, last week against the panthers on their new $1.6 billion stadium.
Although 30 points were scored in the first half, neither offense was particularly sharp. The 2nd half was a different story, the Giants were down in the score 16 to 14, Lawrence Tynes made a 32 yd FG and at the end of the 3rd quarter WR Hakeem Nicks caught his third TD in the game, on the 4th q RB Ahmad Bradshaw made a 4 yd run for a TD, that was the last gasp for Carolina, the league’s youngest team.
