The uDrove Humanitarian Bowl today announced that the Fresno State Bulldogs (8-4) and Northern Illinois Huskies (10-3) have accepted invitations to play in the uDrove Humanitarian Bowl on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. MST at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho. The Bowl, featuring two perennial powers in their respective conferences, will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN Radio.“We are delighted to have two teams of this caliber play in the Bowl which will surely provide a competitive, entertaining match-up,” said Kevin McDonald, uDrove Humanitarian Bowl executive director. “The Bowl’s motto is ‘you gotta be tough to play here’ and with four of the last five games decided on the final drive, we’re bound to see another thriller on the blue turf.”
The Bowl will feature teams with historical success in big games and frequent bowl berths. Fresno State won their season finale against Illinois, 25-23, furthering Coach Pat Hill’s philosophy of “playing any team, anytime, anywhere.” Since 2000, Fresno State has earned 17 wins against BCS conference teams. This will be Fresno State’s third appearance in the uDrove Humanitarian Bowl as the Western Athletic Conference representative, where they are undefeated with wins over Virginia (2004) and Georgia Tech (2007).

Northern Illinois is making its third consecutive bowl appearance for the first time in school history and is 2-3 all-time in bowl games. Even though the Huskies lost a heartbreaker in the MAC title game, they still have a chance to go for a school-record 11 wins.
