Stanford tried to keep its BCS championship game hopes alive when they welcome Notre Dame onto their field. Dropping the last games to the Cardinals, the Fighting Irish know that there I no hope of a championship game for them, but they still want to get that win against a team that until a little while ago was the #2 team in the country.

Notre Dame has been waiting for this game since the season began, and to show everyone that they are a top level team and that they also deserve a shot at the title game.

Suffering some unfortunate loses during the year to USF and rival Michigan as well as USC, they have a chance for some payback, to get that 3 year long chip off their shoulder and to destroy all hops of the Cardinals reaching the title game.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have had a bumpy season to say the least, but are determined to stay afloat and beat the Cardinals in their own home, like Oregon did on November 12th.

Notre Dame has changed personnel quite a bit during the last few years; from coaches to QB they have yet to find their identity for more than just 1 season.

Young sophomore QB Tommy Rees seems to have settled into the mind set of sticking around and learning a thing or two, with a completion percentage of 66.6, he has completed 247 passes out of 371 thrown for 2648 yards and 19 touchdowns, aided by junior running back Cierre Wood who has 187 carries for more than 1000 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Wide receiver Michael Floyd runs through the air, completing 8 receptions for 1014 yards and adds 7 td´s to his resume.

Stanford Cardinals led by Heisman front runner QB Andrew Luck, are living the dream, with only one loss on the year they have a chance to make it to the big game, all that lies between is a few poll voters and the Fighting Irish.

Luck is having a fantastic season, throwing for more than 2900 yards and scoring 31 times, he leads al QB in the PAC-12.

Power runner Stepfan Taylor has taken care of business on the ground running for 1036 yards and adding 8 touchdowns, alongside wide receiver Griff Whalen who has 47 catches for 652 yards and has scored 4 times.

This Game will show off true football, how to adjust to receivers while containing the run game, protecting the QB while improvising at any moment.

Defensively these teams must trust in each other, that the job will get done, the Linebackers must be in constant movement trying to catch any sign that may give the play away.

The Stanford Cardinals are favorite by a touchdown in this game and I believe the kickers are going to get lots of playing time.

I like the upset of the day to come in this game, Notre Dame wants it bad and has been playing very well, while the Cardinals have a tendency of getting a little careless with the football and turnovers at this stage are very costly.

I like the Fighting Irish to win outright, handing Stanford it´s second loss of the year and shutting the lights off on their BCS championship game.
