Last year it was the Miami of Ohio Redhawks that dominated the MAC not this year though It is funny how much things can change in one year one team that can relate to that statement more than most other teams is that of the Redhawks from Miami Ohio. If you were to look at last year`s stats versus the stats from this year it is like salt and pepper the right opposite. |

Last year this team when 10-4 for the season which is impressive no matter what conference you play in and whom you play, getting ten wins in a season is straight up playing some serious football, they also managed to finish the season 7-1 in the Mid-American Conference and they also managed to go to the Godaddy.com Bowl where they beat Middle Tennessee 35-21. This year their season is nowhere near as impressive as last year so far they are 4-5 for the season and 3-2 in MAC play. This Wednesday they will take on the Owls of Temple at the Lincoln Financial Field at 8pm and this game will be shown on ESPN, currently it is the Owls who are heavy favorites with the spread saying they will win the game by twelve and a half points. For the Owls it has been an interesting season so far also with them standing at 5-4 for the season and 3-3 in conference play, this game whoever wins will take the lead in the MAC East away from Ohio whom are standing at 3-2. In all fairness to Temple they are a solid team, but calling them a favorite by twelve and a half points might be a little high, the only way for the Owls to cover that spread is for their Running back Bernard Pierce to have another great game. So far the junior from Ardmore, Pennsylvania has scored forty-five touchdowns and rushed for 3124 yards for Temple this year he has amassed 1035 yards from 203 attempts and nineteen touchdowns. He has only scored one touchdown in each of his last two games and his best game this season was against Maryland when he scored five touchdowns. If the Miami defense don`t watch out for him then he could for sure do some nasty damage on the field, I see him at least scoring two touchdowns come Wednesday. |
