This Monday Night is going to be the night for the Washington Redskins!!! The Philadelphia Eagles (ATS 3-2 / 2-1) will play against the Washington Redskins (ATS 2-4 / 2-3) at the FedEx Field located in Maryland. The game is scheduled to start at 8:30 PM ET and is going to be televised nationwide on ESPN.
Philadelphia is a great team and we have no doubt about it. They have the second place at the NFC East standings which is not that bad. The NY Giants has the first place with a record winning that shows 5-1 while the Eagles shows 3-2. Maybe this game will look better in that standing making them just one winning away from the first place at this moment.
On the other hand, we remember what happened in the last game at Washington in which they lost 3 to 10. In this case, we all suspect that they will perform the same way against the Redskins. On the other hand, we can see that The Eagles are showing a winning record of 6-4 in the last 10 games which is better than the 3-7 winning record that the Redskins are showing. At this point we have to check some numbers in order to check real facts about their performance in order to make wise decisions to pick the safer pick for the night.
The Eagles must pick up the blitz: The usually inept Raiders pass rush came up with six sacks in Week 6 against a patchwork Philadelphia offensive line and Donovan McNabb never had time to set his feet and throw. The Eagles seemed to get really caught off guard because the Raiders had only blitzed 20 times in their first five games. The Eagles have major problems on the left side of their offensive line and you can bet that the Redskins will attack with some overload blitzes from that side. What makes this worse is the fact that if the Eagles are forced to keep their backs and tight ends in to block (and none of them are great blitz pick-up guys), it adversely affects the number of targets in the passing game.
There are some facts that could help us to analyze the game in a better way. The Eagles are 3-2 ATS and also the winning record is 1-1 in the ATS when they play away. On the other hand The Eagles are 1-0 ATS as the underdog and also they are 1-0 in the ATS as an away underdog.
Talking about the Redskins, they are 1-4 total in the ATS and also 0-3 playing at home. On the other hand The Redskins are 1-0 ATS as the underdog.
At the offence we can see that in total yards, the Eagles have 351 yards earned while the Redskins have 294 yards in total. Also in the passing the Eagles are showing a better number with 251 yards while the Redskins have 195 yards. About the rushing we can see that the Eagles have just 100 yards while the Redskins have almost the same number with just 98.
At the Defense, we can see that the Eagles have allowed 282 yards while the Redskins have allowed 287. On the other hand, on the passing yards allowed the Eagles have allowed 179 yards while the Redskins have allowed 169 yards in total.
