An interesting game between the Florida State Seminoles (2-4, 1-4 ATS) and the North Carolina Tar Heels (4-2, 1-3 ATS) will be taking place this Thursday October 22nd at the Kenan Stadium located at the city of Chapel Hill (North Carolina). The game is schedule to start at 8:00 PM ET and is going to be televised Nationwide on ESPN and also ESPN 360.The game is here, and we were waiting this game since the beginning of the year. After all Florida State was suppose to make their climb back towards contending for the ACC Title and North Carolina was expected to do the same down in Chapel Hill. However we are now midway through the season and neither one of these two teams has yet to score a conference victory.
I think that Coach Bobby Bowden has a lot of faith because of the fact that he thinks that lots of things will get around with his team. This game in fact, was supposed to be matched between two of the top teams in the ACC, but in this case, is going to be matched with two of the bottom dwellers this Thursday night.
We can still see some numbers for this game and try to expect something from the game. For Florida we have some good material that we can save to predict a good game from them. C. Ponder at the passing has a 67.7% of completions with also 1781 yards, 9 TD’s and 1 interception while E. Manuel which is the other key player, has a 50.0% of completions and just 4 yards which is not that good for him. Actually Manuel haven’t had that much opportunity to play and that is why the 4 yards, but I am sure that he can perform the same way as Ponder.
I can tell that the defense of Florida is good, but I can also can add that they also move so slow and that is why they had a bad performance at the beginning of the season. North Carolina on the other hand, analyzing the rushing part of the stats, we can see that there are two key players that can move the game the other way around if they play good: S. Draughn is making a good job with a total of 88 carried yards and a total of 355 yards in the whole season (he also has 1 TD). On the other hand, the other key player, R. Houston has a total of 49 carried yards for a total of 215 yards in the whole season with a total of 7 TD’s in total for what we have o the season.
Florida State Passing
The two major representatives are C. Ponder 67.7% with also 1781 yards, 9 TD’s and 1 interception while E. Manuel has a 50.0% of completions and just 4 yards which is not that good for him. Actually Manuel haven’t had that much opportunity to play and that is why the 4 yards, but I am sure that he can perform the same way as Ponder.
Florida State Rushing
The two major representatives are T. Jones 46 yards, 228 yards and 4 TD’s and J. Thomas with 45 yards, 175 yards in total and 2 TD’s.
Florida State Receiving
The two major representatives are B. Reed with 28 receptions, 364 yards and no TD’s and R. Goodman 27 receptions, 355 yards and 1 TD.
North Carolina Passing
The two major representatives are T. Yates with a total of 60.8% of completions, 964 yards in total during the whole season, 6 TD’s and a total of 7 interceptions which makes this player one of the key players that we need to watch during the game. On the other hand, also S. Draughn is making a good job with a 100.0% of completions with a total of 34 yards.
North Carolina Rushing
The two major representatives are S. Draughn is making a good job with a total of 88 carried yards and a total of 355 yards in the whole season (he also has 1 TD). On the other hand, the other key player, R. Houston has a total of 49 carried yards for a total of 215 yards in the whole season with a total of 7 TD’s in total for what we have o the season.
North Carolina Receiving
The two major representatives are E. Highsmith with a total of 18 receptions for a total of 290 yards and also he has 2 TD’s in total. On the other hand, we also have to be careful with G. Little which has a total of 27 receptions for a total of 230 yards with also 1 TD in the whole season.
So, as you can see, everything is ready to start the game. The LIVE LINES are up and running and we can see that there is a lot of action on the game.
