If you’ve read any of my work before, which I’d be surprised if you did, you would have read a time or two that the Washington Redskins are my favorite team. They have been since I was old enough to handle the remote control, and they most likely will be until I’m old enough to not handle the remote anymore. As you can imagine, I’m quite happy about there 6-2 start this season. In fact, they should be 7-1, but they lost to the then winless Rams at home. See, that’s what it’s like to be a Washington Redskins fan. Even when they are doing very bad, they have a way of keeping the game close, meaning you as a fan are forced to watch to the very last second, the one they usually lose. This season they are doing the same thing, only in reverse, winning most of there games by six games or less. It’s one of my dreams that sometime in the near future they win a game by 30-40 points, so I can enjoy the second half of a game, and my wife doesn’t have to hear my scream at the TV every other play.
With the Steelers coming into town I highly doubt we are going to get that 30-40 point win. What I believe we are going to get instead is a game that has 30-40 points scored total, probably less. The Steelers arguably have the best defense in the league, with possibly the exception of the undefeated Titans. The Redskins, while banged up at a few key positions, are also a very good defensive team. The Steelers blew the game against the Giants, plain and simple. They were in control for most of the game, and a safety here, a blown coverage there and they lose the game. The Redskins have shown this year that they are capable of losing games at home that they really really should win, and this game worries me. However, I feel that the offense is a ton better under Zorn then it has been in a decade, and I feel the Redskins will be able to make a few key plays to win a 21-17 type game that is sure to keep me on the edge of my seat the entire game, and my wife yelling from the other room.
