Sunday Night we will have the Los Angeles Angels playing against the Boston Red Sox. The game will be held at Boston and is going to be starting at 8:05 PM ET at the Boston Stadium. The starting pitchers announced are Kazmir and Buchholz for the Angels and the Red Sox respectively.
We can see that the numbers are well balanced in between the pitchers. Kazmir has a ERA and a WHIP of 4.89 and 1.82 respectively while Buchholz has 4.21 and 1.38 in the same parameters. Kazmir was a late scratch for Tuesday’s start against the Rangers, the Associated Press reports. Sean O’Sullivan started in his place and also Kazmir was yanked two hours before his start. Manager Mike Scioscia said that Jered Weaver and John Lackey also will be skipped the next two days to get extra rest, now that the Angels have clinched a playoff spot.
On the other hand, Buchholz was ripped for five home runs that helped yield seven runs in Tuesday’s loss to the Blue Jays. Also Buchholz was untouchable in his last six starts and the Red Sox had not lost since August 13 when Buchholz was on the mound. He should be anxious to redeem himself in his last regular season start on Sunday, then slot in as the team’s No. 3 starter in the playoffs.
Definitely is going to be a really good game. I think that the Angels is better prepared to win the game and I think that Kazmir has more experience and is going to make a better job than Buchholz even though this pitcher is showing lots of improvements and a promising career.
