Big East Battle between Mountaineers and Orangemen!

Watch out Big East Fans because here comes Friday College Football yalls wall with two games featuring Big East matchups and what do you know both of them games will be televised Nationally. The only down side this Friday to having two games being played and both from the same conference is that the games are scheduled to be played at the same time one will be shown on ESPN at 8pm Eastern and the other will be shown on ESPN2 also at 8pm Eastern. The match that least catches my attention is that being shown on ESPN2 which will have the Scarlett Knights from Rutgers take on the Louisville Cardinals in which Louisville is a two point favorite in other words this game can go either way. Rutgers so far is standing with the better record of 5-1 and are 2-0 in conference play while the Cardinals of Louisville are 2-4 and sit at a disappointing 0-1 in Big East play, last year the two teams played one another on November 26th at it was played at Rutgers and it was Louisville that won in a land slide win with a score of 40-13.

Now let`s focus a little bit on the other game which is that of number fifteen in the Nation the Mountaineers of West Virginia whom are currently 5-1 and 1-0 in Big East play. Their only loss came to the top ranked LSU Tigers a few weeks back but they are looking to but that loss behind them and continue their great play. They will take on the Orangemen from Syracuse whom are 4-2 and 0-1 in Big East play so far but that will all change Friday considering they are a fourteen point underdog at home in the Carrier Dome. The first loss that Syracuse took was on the road against the Trojans of USC when they lost 38-17 and their second loss came at the hands of Conference Rivals Rutgers in a terrible scoring game that let Rutgers win 19-16 in double overtime that’s right 19-16 including two overtimes.

West Virginia will arrive in New York being favorites by fourteen points so they should win, but it will be interesting to see if they will be able to cover the spread because last year they were favorites at home on October 23rd and lost the game 19-14. Last year was one of the worst showings I have personally witnessed by the Mountaineers they led the first quarter 14-10 then Syracuse won the second quarter 9-0 and believe it or not the entire second half went scoreless. Don`t expect that kind of scoring this year with the total being fifty-eight and a half and I for one see it going over since this year the Mountaineers have proved they have the game to score over and over again.
