US Open shows the first set of good results. The woman share of the championship ended yesterday and we have some good results. A sweet ending to a challenging tournament, Serena and Venus Williams upset defending champions Liezel Huber and Cara Black in the 2009 US Open Women’s Doubles Final at Arthur Ashe Stadium, 6-2, 6-2. Their 10th major win in doubles, Serena and Venus have won three of four Grand Slam doubles titles this year – the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.

“I have a great partner. I believe in her just as much as I believe in myself,” said Venus Williams.  The sisters are only two of three active players that have completed the career Grand Slam in doubles. A stated 2009 goal, the sisters are hoping to qualify for the year-end WTA Championships in the doubles competition.
