Here we got a pair of frustrated teams. One was last year’s NFC South Champion, Carolina Panthers, who have two defeats in their first two games. The other one,  Dallas Cowboys,  had their new stadium debut spoiled. Panthers can’t get a win, and  Tony Romo went from a career high in his first game to a career low in the second.

Jake Delhomme and the Panthers are having a rough start this season. Last week Jake had 5 turnovers, one fumble and 4 INT’s.  This week he had only one INT, but it came when they had the ball on the Falcons 17 yard  and only 2:30 minutes left in the game. However, he did have a good outing and threw 25 of 41 for 308 yards, as well as his  receiver Steve Smith, who had 8 catches for 131 yards.  The turnovers seem to be haunting them, including last year’s Playoff Game.

Dallas quarterback Tony Romo went from a career high last week to his second worst game in his career this week. He threw 13 of 29 for 127 yards, and had 3 INT’s that all resulted in a New York Giants touchdown.  Felix Jones had a fumble as well, in what turned out to be a home debut spoiler for the Cowboys.

The game was a sea-saw battle, with lead changes back and forth, 3 lead changes in the last quarter alone, but no more than 6 points lead, in what was determined in the last play, a  field goal, for the Giants.

The Cowboys should rebound after this loss. Being at home,
against a team that can’t get on track, should help them.  But we know how explosive this team could be. I believe that the pressure of the home debut, with the biggest crowd (105,121) in NFL history,  affected them more than they would’ve liked. But now they have a second chance,  which they should take advantage of.

For that reason, I see the Cowboys taking the victory and giving the Panthers their third straight loss.
