This Saturday September 5, 2009 we will have a very important game. No.5. Alabama vs. No.7. Virginia Tech. The location of the game to be played is not decided yet but is scheduled to be kicked off at 8:00 PM ET and it will be also televised on ABC.
To update our selfs we can recall that Alabama opened the 2008 season with a beatdown of Clemson at the Georgia Dome. The Tide will be shooting for more of the same this season against Virginia Tech. QB Greg McElroy which is a first year starter for the Tide, but he still has Julio Jones as a receiver. The Hokies will rely on QB Tyrod Taylor. Alabama holds a 10-1 lead in the series but hasn’t beaten Virginia Tech since 1979.
Last year Alabama opened the season in such an impressive way, but at the end they end up with such a disappointment. The fifth-ranked Crimson Tide hope to start erasing those memories by getting off to another good start Saturday night at the Georgia Dome, where No. 7 Virginia Tech looks to justify the highest preseason ranking in school history.
Virginia Tech (10-4) also will be missing a key player, but while Deaderick may return this season, Hokies tailback Darren Evans won’t. The sophomore, who ran for 1,265 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, tore his ACL in preseason practice. Definitely a though time for Virginia Tech.
In my opinion, I think that Virginia Tech is the safer pick for the night. The Live Lines are ready and we also have the odds for the game. Take the time to chose your pick and get some action. More information here.
