Big Ten Showdown between Wildcats and Fighting Illini

When it comes to College Football, everyone knows that Saturdays is the day to sit and watch games all day long and doing nothing else if possible. The only down side to there being so many games on one single day is that half the time there might be two games that you would love to watch and go figure they are played at the same time so it is one or the other. That is unless you are at some Sports Bar where they have numerous TV`s and that way you can sit and watch both games at the same time and enjoy a cold beverage and a something to snack on.

One of the games that caught my attention was that of the Big Ten Matchup between Northwestern Wildcats and the Fighting Illini of Illinois. The game will be televised Nationally on ESPN2 at 12pm Eastern Time the game is being played at Memorial Stadium which is home to the Fighting Illini and right now the line says that Illinois are favorites by eight points the spread got to eight due to Illinois being ranked twenty-fourth in the Nation and also because they are 4-0 so far and playing at home against a weaker Northwestern squad. Northwestern won their first two games of the season then lost their third game at Army with a score of 21-14. Though they have two wins under their belts both the wins came against some pretty weak opponents, they first of all beat Boston College 24-17 then they went onto beat Eastern Illinois 42-21.

Illinois has won all Four of their games so far and among their wins came a close call against twenty-second ranked Arizona State Sun Devils, but the Illini walked away with a 17-14 win but struggled greatly against Western Michigan who they were only able to beat 23-20. The Illini will look to Sophmore Quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase to keep up his high percentage of pass completions, but in order for them to win they will have to protect their Quarterback more. I say this because he has already been sacked eight times in four games and if they don`t protect him against the Wildcats defense then they might have a tough game which could even lead to them losing.
