The Sharpie 500 NASCAR competition is going to start this Wednesday August 19th. The main race, the Sharpie 500 will be taking place this Saturday at the Bristol Speedway at Tennessee, USA. The competition will be starting at 7:30 PM ET.
Last year Carl Edwards captured his second straight Sharpie 500 win by edging Kyle Busch at the World’s Fastest Half Mile. So, that gives us a clue of the rivalry we can expect from those two pilots. Busch is an excellent pilot and he has such a great team of work behind him.
There are new faces coming into the event. Between now and the end of the 2008 season, Joey Logano and Scott Speed likely will make their NASCAR Sprint Cup debuts. In Speed’s case, Red Bull Racing will probably employ its test team – which includes veteran Cup crew chief Richard “Slugger” Labbe — for a third car for Speed, said team Vice President and General Manager Jay Frye said Friday at Bristol Motor Speedway. This is adding more pressure for the rest of the teams because Red Bull is such a great sponsor with lots of money and resources and Joey Logano is making a really good career as a pilot.
