This time the UFC97 is coming with some fights that are interesting to comment a little bit. From the ones that are going to be televised: Anderson Silva (c) vs. Thales Leites, Chuck Liddell vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Brian Stann, Cheick Kongo vs. Antoni Hardonk and Luis Cane vs. Steve Cantwell, there is two that are the most attractive ones.

One of the most attractive fights for that night is the one with Chuck Liddell vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. We can tell that the audience have being waiting for that fight almost seven years. Since Rua started this sport seriously. Time ago both, Liddell and Rua were considered to be the best light heavyweights fighters. In fact, both of the fighters are showing the same stats. Chuck Liddell has 13 wins by Knock Out / Technical Knock and one by submission while Rua has 14 wins by Knock Out / Technical Knock Out plus one by submission.

About this fight is a little but complicated to predict who is going to win. Both of the fighters has their strengths. On one side we have Chuck Liddell that has a very well trained “up fighting” skills which I hink in personal that are getting better every day, while on the other hand we have Rua who is a Jiu – Jitsu Black Belt who has in fact a great ground combat technique.

Rua thinks that if the fight touches the ground is going to be high odds that he is going to have a really good control on it. “I trust my ground skills, and in theory I would have a better chance if the fight hits the ground” Rua Said.

Rua is a very Skilled fighter but in the past he had two major Knee surgeries that were taking some time from him to come back. Actually, when he returned he had a nightmare time coming back. He understand that he needs to work out and improve lots of thinks “I would rather work to improve” is what he said in a recent interview. Another detail is that he is having a hard time matching the 205 pounds, but he trusts his team and personally I think is noting he has to worry about as far as he keeps everything under control
