Probably one of the fastest horses available for the race is out of running due to another crack in a hoof. So sad, because Quality Road was the option for more people than any other horse. Now the options are less to pick the favorite to win.

Jimmy Jerkens which is the trainer of the famous Quality Road was almost sure this last week that maybe the horse was going to be able to complete the race. This is a three year old horse that was able to qualify as a Stakes runner showing a 113 Beyer.

Really bad news that it’s definitely not going to run this race, and even worst is not even going to be shipped to Churchill Downs.

It’s a fact that he is not going to run. Everybody knows the level of performance that a horse needs in order to compete against every contender at the race and having at least a little sign of injury could end in a bad story. It;s better to let the horse down to rest rather than risk it and to die in the worse case scenario.

During the last two weeks the horse was showing a decrease in speed due to the crack in the hoof.  Jerkens scratched the Florida Derby winner Monday after the colt missed a workout at Belmont Park, knocking one of the favorites out of Saturday’s Run for the Roses and further muddying an already cloudy Derby picture.

There are more options besides this horse to analyze and get a choice for the winner. There are lines available for the running horses and the race is getting closer. Don’t miss the opportunity to bet on your favorite. More info.
